Call for Applications: Training Workshop on Economic, Ecological, and Gender Justice – 2026

The Ecumenical Commission for Human Development (ECHD) is pleased to invite applications for its three-day residential Training Workshop on Economic, Ecological, and Gender Justice – 2026, to be held from 24–26 April 2026 at National Council of Churches in Pakistan, Lahore, Pakistan.

The workshop organized under the theme “Faith in Action for Inclusive, Sustainable, and Just Communities,” is a youth ecumenical formation and leadership development initiative designed to nurture young leaders who can respond to the pressing challenges of economic inequality, ecological degradation, and gender-based injustice in Pakistan.

The workshop emerges from the urgent realities facing young people today, particularly those from marginalized communities who continue to experience unemployment, climate vulnerability, exclusion, and harmful gender norms. Through biblical reflection, contextual analysis, interactive role-play, case studies, and community action planning, participants will explore how Christian faith can inspire transformative responses rooted in justice, stewardship, dignity, and equality.

The primary goal of the workshop is to equip youth with theological understanding, leadership skills, and practical tools to advocate for fair livelihoods, ecological responsibility, and gender equity within churches, campuses, and grassroots communities. By the end of the training, participants are expected to develop local action plans, justice campaigns, eco-friendly community initiatives, and youth-led advocacy ideas that contribute to inclusive and sustainable social transformation.

Applications are open to young women and men aged 18–30 years, including ecumenical youth leaders, church-based youth fellows, students, and grassroots peace ambassadors, from the Dioceses of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot.

Selection will be based on the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to church, youth ministry, community leadership, justice advocacy, and ecumenical engagement, while ensuring gender and diocesan balance.

The deadline to submit completed applications is 18 April 2026.
