Faith and Creation in Action: Faisalabad Diocese Unites for Peace with Creation
Faisalabad, Pakistan – September 2025. In a vibrant display of faith, unity, and environmental stewardship, Christians from across the Diocese of Faisalabad came together for a Tree Plantation Drive at Davia Villa, organized by the Ecumenical Commission for Human Development (ECHD) as part of the global Season of Creation Campaign 2025.
The event, themed “Peace with Creation,” reflected the urgent call for ecological responsibility inspired by Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’ and echoed by Christian leaders worldwide.
The initiative was held in collaboration with the Pakistan Correspondence Bible School, Pakistan Christian Recording Ministry, and the Local Salvation Army Church, which hosted a colorful Art Competition for children and youth. Young artists expressed their hopes for a greener, more peaceful world through powerful images of rivers restored, forests renewed, and communities united in care for God’s creation.
“This campaign reminds us that creation is not a resource to be exploited but a gift to be cherished,” said Timothias Majeed, ECHD’s diocesan coordinator, addressing participants before the first saplings were planted. “By planting these trees, we are sowing seeds of peace and hope, not just for today, but for generations to come.”
The Pakistan Christian Music Recording Ministry shared recorded Scripture readings on creation care, while representatives from the Pakistan Correspondence Bible School distributed biblical study materials to deepen participants’ understanding of ecological discipleship.
The Salvation Army Church’s Art Competition added a joyful, creative dimension, with winning entries to be displayed in local churches as visual reminders of the campaign’s message.
The Season of Creation Campaign 2025, celebrated globally from September 1 to October 4, has inspired Christian communities to integrate environmental care into their spiritual life. For the Faisalabad Diocese, this tree plantation drive symbolized a tangible commitment to protecting Pakistan’s fragile ecosystems while strengthening ecumenical bonds among different Christian traditions.
