Governance
The Ecumenical Commission for Human Development (ECHD) is guided by a three-tier governance structure grounded in Christian values of transparency, stewardship, and service. Our governance reflects the belief that leadership is an act of discipleship, accountability, and shared responsibility for God’s mission in the world.
General Body (GB)
Comprising seven founding members, the GB provides spiritual and strategic guidance to uphold ECHD’s vision of justice, peace, and dignity for all.
Board of Advisors (BoA)
Consisting of five diverse, gender-balanced members, the Board is our primary governing body. It independently formulates policies, evaluates organizational performance, and ensures alignment with our mission. The Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Board as an ex officio member.
Senior Management Team (SMT)
Made up of experienced scholars, human rights defenders, religious leaders, and development professionals, the SMT advises the Board on key challenges and strategies. Led by the Executive Director, Head of Programs, and Finance Manager, this team ensures strategic objectives, operational plans, and budgets reflect our faith-based commitment to serve the marginalized.
ECHD is fully accountable to donors, partners, and the communities we serve, honoring God’s gifts through responsible stewardship. Working collaboratively, the ECHD’s Board, SMT, staff, and volunteers implement transformative projects that embody Christ’s call to serve “the least of these,” addressing poverty, disease, and injustice with integrity and compassion.
